a night with parachute

1. let's be honest... editing pictures takes time. and sometimes i just don't feel like doing it. so tonight you get a collage. and that is all. forgive me.

2. i like cristian's hat. i want one.

3. will anderson, be mine. he is the lead singer of parachute and as dreamy as can be. some girl reached up and ran her fingers through his hair. i was pissed. mostly because i wished it was me.

4. local bands need more recognition. meet tessa barton and her band (her two brothers, luke and chas). they're from holladay and their music is perfect. we met them after the show and got them to sign a single for us. they're seriously incredible and i hope they play again soon!

5. a thirteen hour, one day trip to salt lake and back isn't really the smartest. it's exhausting and expensive. so why are juelaine and i considering doing it again next monday for mat kearney? because the music is worth it.

6. there is nothing in the world like being front row at a sold out concert. music is everything.

if hell was a 17 hour roadtrip

the day i have been waiting for for five months has finally come and gone. but let's maybe back up a second and talk about my last couple days in kansas... thursday was the day that chris came! brent and i had lunch with miss maggie (my trainer) at chipotle. then we stopped at the mall so brent could spend $103 on one pair of pants and one pair of shoes. absurd right?

then on the way home from the airport we stopped and looked at the progress they're making on the kansas city temple. it's looking so pretty!

friday morning i packed and said goodbye to brent. waaaaah i don't wanna talk about it. but friday night chris and i went to the royal's game! they played the boston red sox and lost badly, but it was still fun.

yesterday morning i woke up at 5, finished packing the rest of my things, and we met up with jessie at her house. we were on the road by 6:45. chris and i decided that a roadtrip of that magnitude must be what hell is like. seriously... my back hurt, my bum hurt, and even the billions of songs on my ipod couldn't keep me entertained. but towards the end, driving across wyoming, i fell in love. now, i'm not as cool as chelsie. i mean, i did drive over 1000 miles through 5 states. but my journey wasn't as marvelous as the trek chelsie made. guys, america is beauuuuutiful. i'm especially a fan of the midwest sky.

those are two different rainbows, btdubs. and that last one was a double! how preeeeeetty. but i'm finally here. and it's a marvelous feeling. i've been reunited with aims, and my heart is happy. now it's time for a nap.

la la la best utah trip ever

soo our weekend didn't start at all as planned. i didn't go to a single class i had on friday (i had 4) so we could leave earlier, buuuuut that didn't happen. and when we were pulling out of the la jolla parking lot juelaine spilled her 44oz. dr. pepper all over her side of the car. so that was awesome. and then we went to pick up cutie (married) boy cameron and we ended up leaving at like 2:20, half an hour later than we wanted to.

but, we made impressively good time and it only took us 3 hours to get to salt lake. so we dropped off cameron at temple square and headed down state street to try to find the avalon theater. OH! and betsy forgot to print off her ticket. so on our way down state street we saw a mac store and we ran in and adam roth helped us print off her ticket. i even gave him my pink silly band to thank him for saving our night.

uhm, avalon theater ended up being a lot smaller than we thought it'd be. sketchiest venue EVER. and i swear we were the oldest people there. besides this old man and his little child.

we ended up being right down in front. there were seriously only three people in front of me. so awesome. hero's hero played first. they were a lame local band. they only played two of their own songs and then covered a senses fail song. however, their bassist jumped down in the crowd and he high-fived me. and their cutie guitarist that looks like david archuleta (not that one down there) threw out his pick and guess who got it... hi, me :)

windsor drive played second. i hadn't heard of them until two weeks ago when i found out they were gonna be there and researched up. they're actually pretty bomb. someone in their drummer's family died so he wasn't there, but they had some other guy and i didn't even know the difference. but i'm pretty in love with these guys. they played 2 of my 3 favorite songs and i just fell in love all over again.

terrible things wins the award for the drummer with the weirdest facial expressions. i don't even know how to describe what was going on with his face while he was playing. they were pretty great though. and their guitarist goes "thank you salt lake city, you guys are the fuckin' best. can i say that?" haha so awesome. we even got a pic with them after the show (which is down there...)

so, to add to the sketchiness of the avalon theater, they had these benches throughout the whole place and i was standing right in front of one the whole night. so i had to hold on to betsy to prevent from falling back. it was a rough night. so sorry my hands are in her pockets and sorry we got closer than we probably should have. but it was necessary.

hi dave :)

hi zach, nice shirt

and we ran into betsy's friend ali from dance and some boys she brought from rexburg

yeah, so dave goes "can we crowd surf in this place?" and then adjusted his pants and there he went. soo perfect. i touched him :)

rob came back! he left for a few years, but joined them on the farewell tour. and i was oh so happy he did.

best encore ever. dave came back out first and goes "this moment, tonight, is one of the best we've had in our 8 years" and i believed him. dave slays me.

perfect show. despite the fact that i lost a shoe, got pushed around buy some big massive tools and ended up with a few bruises, had to practically molest betsy and juelaine so i didn't fall, and i lost hearing in my right ear for the next several hours. but hey, im not complaining. at all.

unfortunately things didn't work out with staying at calaigh's. sooo we slept in the car. no big deal. we got ihop at 3:30 and changed in the bathroom there. we drove around for about 20 minutes finding a spot that we deemed suitable for sleep, and fell comfortably (not really) into dreaming in a hotel parking lot at 4 in the morning.

not gonna lie. friday night was... rough. but saturday morning we woke up, went to kailey's grandma's house in bountiful, showered and got ready, and decided to spend the rest of the day downtown. i'm not exactly sure what was going on. but hey, we were still on our mae high, and pretty much ridiculously exhausted out of our minds.

happy weekend all, mine was fantastic :)

two truths and... well, a reminder

fact: i have never ever been a fan of halloween. even when i was younger i don't remember liking it that much. so this halloween i spent friday with two of my best friends eating red robin and watching jackass 3 and paranormal activity 2. then laaaaast night, we went to the haunted straw maze. im usually pretty good with scary things. i like scary movies. i like the haunted houses in kc (which are relatively top notch, ya know). basically i like being scared. however, in short, i lasted about 2 minutes in the haunted straw maze, was backed into a corner holding onto jenna where i was crying and shaking as a big scary man in a mask (who i later found out was only 16) held a chainsaw up to my face and told me to run. worst moment ever. so, with tears streaming down our faces, and shame thrust upon us, jenna and i exited the straw maze through the entrance where we were greeted by 8 and 9 yearolds (who made it out alive and unscathed) who mocked and ridiculed us. i doubt i will ever be going back to that awful place.

fact: i really like roadtrips. since ive been at school, my favorite roadtrip is to utah. and this weekend, i will be making the three and a half hour trek to salt lake city with betsy and juelaine and some unknown girl i have yet to meet to spend a glorious two and a half days in the beehive state. wanna know why? as previously discussed i am getting to see mae for the second time. it will be the end of life as i know it, considering this is their farewell tour. kinda upset about that. but, i am beyond excited. and i get to see my now married calaigh. so im thinking im pretty much really looking forward to this weekend. uh, can we please fastforward to friday at approximately 2pm?

remember: change is inevitable. it just...happens. i haven't really decided if i'm for or against change. i've always just accepted it and moved on. aaaaanyways, today brother young was released from his calling in the bishopric and it was the saddest thing. i was a pretty big fan of the guy. and we passed around cards during our 3rd hour to sign for him. and this quote was on one of them... "they may forget what you said. they may forget what you did. but they will never forget how you made them feel." just something to think about.

friday (n): a great feeling, happy, no more shit for two days

hellllooooo friday!

my absolute favorite day of the week. today means panda express, a roadtrip, best friend time, utahhhh, familia, just... yay. so i definitely only got 4 and a half hours of sleep last night. and im gonna be driving today. good choice on my part huh? oh wellllll. at least i went to one of my three classes today. thats big for me. i took my humanities music test. ick. it was awful. im feelin a B or so though. so thats good.

the panda express in IF opened this week (only panda in the WHOLE state of idaho). its sort of a big deal. me and amy are going there for lunch before heading to slc. yay for panda. i havent had it since april. thats a big deal.

my current music obsessions: minus the bear (thank you shawn wilcox), pretty lights (thank you brent arnold), bloc party, passion pit (thank you sophie wallerstedt) and safetysuit (thank you calaigh labrum). so so so sososo good. im in love with music, did you know?

im so very excited to see my absolute favorite second cousin once removed amaliaaaa :) i miss her and her little brothers and sisters. i wish i was cool like them and had italian middle names cause my mom was italian. their parents speak italian to eachother. how cute is that? seriously. i wanna be able to speak another language to my husband... so sexy.

--8:45--

welllll im sitting here waiting for amalia to get home so we can do something awesome and reek havoc on the town. i like provo. i like it a lot. its charming? is that the word i want? im not sure. i like provo though.

ive missed these people. little lizzy is so cute. right now shes drawing christmas pictures for me out of a coloring book. its definitely june, far away from christmas. but thats okay. thats what i miss about being a little kid. its okay that shes drawing christmas pictures in june because thats what she wants to do. i miss not having to worry about anything but what color crayon to use. life was good back then.

i met amy's baby sister today. it made me miss my baby sister. i miss our drives, our music, our walks, our talks, our random activities and adventures, finishing eachothers sentences, sleeping in my car, just... everything.

k well im thinking this is long enough for now. have i mentioned i like utah? well i do, a lot.

fjdklaf; i like roadtrips
